This place was under construction during our visit, however the gentlemen was super nice and very informative. He patiently showed us around and explained the historical value (which my husband and children loved!). It was very hot, and the entire visit took about 30-45 minutes. I believe the outdoor auditorium was also under construction so there were no presentations. The fountain in the front didn't have any water in it, I'm pretty confident the Texas heat sucked it dry though. I would definitely visit during the Texas Revolution Trail with my family again.

Good museum of not only Texas Revolution items, but other times as well. The central item is the canon that started it all. Nice folks.

Come and take it. It is worth the trip to see the original cannon. Got to love your Texas history.

Great piece of History. A lot of wonderful historical items. Great stories and photos. Inside they have a few large rooms with lots of artifacts and items. Everything has great descriptions. A lot of personal items from local residents and a lot of items from the wars. There are restrooms available inside and it is air-conditioned. Nice memorials outside also. Yes, the real Gonzales cannon is inside the building. They allow you to take photos, there is a sign-in book, and small gift shop. If you visit here also check out the Gonzales Chamber of Commerce in the old County Jail building right down the street. Another great place with great artifacts and you can actually tour the old jail. A great place to bring kids to look at a piece of history that isn't always listed in the history books.

Quite a good piece of Texas and Gonzales history. Would love to see the stage being used there!
